  • Aspheric Multifocal Contact Lenses
    • Typically empirically ordered
    • Center-Near and Center-Distance options available
    • Pupil size of critical importance to success
    • More successful with lower add powers
  • Concentric Multifocal Contact Lenses
    • Typically empirically ordered
    • Center-Near and Center-Distance options available
    • Similar to many soft multifocal contact lens designs
    • Centration is critical for success

Hybrid Contact Lenses

  • Extended Depth of Focus Hybrid Contact Lenses
    • Empirically Ordered
    • Unique lens design meant to improve vision at all distances
    • Available in low, medium or high add
    • Option for patients who do not habituate well to GP lens sensation
  • Aspheric Multifocal Hybrid Contact Lenses
    • Empirically Ordered
    • Similar design to available GP options
    • Pupil size measurements are important

Scleral Contact Lenses

  • Largely aspheric and proprietary multifocal designs
    • Available in Center-Near and Center-Distance designs
  • May be able to better accommodate higher astigmatism and irregular corneas
  • May be best for patients with ocular surface disease
