About the Presenter
Pam Satjawatcharaphong OD, FAAO, FSLS received her optometry degree at the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry and the following year completed a cornea and contact lens residency at the Southern California College of Optometry. Her passion for teaching solidified during her residency, leading her to return to UC Berkeley and join the faculty. She is currently an Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor and her teaching roles include chief mentor for the cornea and contact lens residency program, attending for 3rd and 4th year optometric interns in both advanced and primary care contact lens clinics, and instructor of record for the 2nd year contact lens course.
Dr. Satjawatcharaphong is a fellow of both the American Academy of Optometry and of the Scleral Lens Education Society (SLS) and is a past SLS President. She currently serves as the vice chair of the Association of Contact Lens Educators (AOCLE) and is on the advisory boards of both the Gas Permeable Lens Institute (GPLI) and the SLS. Her areas of interest are specialty contact lens fitting for irregular corneas, challenging refractive errors, disfigured eyes, and treatment of ocular surface disease. She also has a strong passion for contact lens education.
